Private Sahara desert tours from Morocco Private Escape: camel treks into the dunes, nights in a desert camp, and real desert culture, guided by founders who grew up in the Sahara.
Our Sahara desert tours are the trip closest to home for us. This is the landscape we grew up in, and we plan every desert leg of your journey around giving you a real, unhurried experience of it — not a quick photo stop on a big bus route.
A typical desert tour combines travel through the Atlas Mountains or the Dades and Todra valleys with a camel trek into the dunes near Merzouga and a night in a private desert camp, followed by time to watch the sunrise over the erg before heading back.
Everything here is private and flexible: the pace, the route in and out of the desert, and how many days you spend in the Sahara are all built around your trip.
Every desert trip is shaped around your dates, but here's a typical flow travelers use as a starting point:
Depart from Marrakech, Fes or another city of your choice, crossing the Atlas Mountains or the Dades and Todra valleys, with stops at kasbahs and scenic viewpoints along the way.
Arrive in the Merzouga area, then head into the dunes by camel for a night in a private desert camp under the stars, with a traditional dinner and music around the fire.
Wake for sunrise over the dunes, ride back out of the desert, and continue on to your next stop or back toward your departure city.
